S928X no DTB.img working

Hi,
I recently purchase a S928X chipset (H96 Max M12).
I can’t find any DTB for it, despite CoreELEC has some for this box but none of them works for EmuELEC.

Any help?

EmuELEC is based on Amlogic.ng. The Amlogic S928X SoC is from the S5 platform and is Amlogic.ne. There is no EmuELEC support for this platform! I used a translator!

I’m sorry to say this but I have no hope that there will be a next version and that it will be compatible… But that’s just my opinion!

I am not sure if it is just a DTB issue or the kernel support issue.
emeuelec does not boot with the generic image and dtb from from coreelec.

I have tried other combinations like corelec kernel + system image from emuelec since that where the userland and other apps are. I had to grow the partition within the image not sure if it is the right way to do it since coreelec was then complaining about boot= arg in sysconfig but went ahead and created some partitions later but was not able to do a successful boot.

It would be good if emuelec add support for S928X

I was able to get the device to continue to boot with the following combination

  1. Started with Coreelec image and dtb for sk1
  2. Grew the corelec volume and replaced system.img from emuelec
  3. changed the config.ini to enable tty and debugging and progress which shows more progress indication.

The system booted and started loading the userland of emuelec.

One thing that stands out is during boot there is a message "NEVER CHANGE … " for which the system waits for 60seconds during boot. I think this is comming from the corelec kernel seems to be init(?) script or an initrd which checks for some directories in /sysstorage… not sure why these were missing.

I could see some messages like starting openelec it is free … Some services also start up fine.
there are some services that fail like mount for tmp-assest, tmp-database, tmp-overlay, cores,shares fail.
The last service being started reported is update-bl301 after which the screen goes blank see the attached images for reference

Looking at all this I suppose getting emuelec running on sk1 should be possible.
If some one can guide on what might be the issues and how to resolve them it would be great help.
