I bought a new tvbox [X96 X4 Amlogic S905X4 Android 11 AV1 Video TV Box] is there a *.dtb file that i can use to install emuelec on it? thanks Paul

Good Evening. For now, the only version that has s905x4 support is the EmuELEC 4.6 test. But we haven’t checked if it works well on this chipset as none of the team have s905x4. [image] Release 4.6-TEST-07082022 · EmuELEC/EmuELEC-tests CHANGELOG 4.6-TEST-07082022 Based on commit: EmuELEC/EmuELEC@2fa0f69 Way too many changes to list here, please check the commit history: https://github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/commits/dev As always bef...

sc2_s905x4_1gbit.dtb [IMAGe1] on release 4.6 test works!!! Will install games tomorrrow thx Paul

Glad it worked! Please advise whether Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks worked.

If the ethernet works then congratulations, but if it doesn’t and is a JL2101 then it probably never will… I spent just a few hours to get JL2101 to work on my S905X3 box and submitted that to upsteam CoreELEC, but days passed and I still can’t get it work on any S005X4 box, main reason being I don’t even have a S905X4 box with JL2101 PHY to develop with… stmmac: add arguments so jl2xx1 can be loaded CoreELEC:amlogic-4.9-19 ← 7Ji:stmmac_jl opened 07:08AM - 23 Jul 22 UTC (UTC) [7Ji] 7Ji +21 -0 Different from my [previous PR](https://github.com/CoreELEC/linux-amlogic/pull/1…2) which also tries to bring JL2101 PHY support to the kernel. This only implements essential modification in the stmmac driver, and does not port the JL2XX1 driver, instead it uses the generic driver the JL2101. It also keeps the modifications behind some arguments so other devices won't be affected This adds two new arguments ``jl2xx1_delay`` and ``jl2xx1_inject`` to the stmmac driver which can be set through kernel command line, which is then enabled at compilation time through config ``CONFIG_STMMAC_JL2XX1``. It's better to do it here in the kernel instead of splitting to another kmodule like stmmac_jl since stmmac is already set to built-in and can't be unloaded and replaced by another kmodule to be loaded in userspace. Also, by the time stmmac is up and running and recognizes the PHY id it is already impossible to do the early-stage modifications these two arguments do: - ``stmmac.jl2xx_delay``, it accepts unsigned interger value, in millesecond. If affects the delay before DMA engine is initialized, so JL2XX1 can be successfully identified. - Default: 0, for skipping the delay entirely - Suggested: 1500, for waiting 1.5 second - ``stmmac.jl2xx1_inject``, it accepts unsigned integer value, treated as bool. If affects whether or not to write specific code through MDIO before MII bus is initialized, so JL2XX1 can be successfully initialized. - Default: 0, for dont't inject - Suggested: 1, for inject The PHY will be driven by the Generic PHY driver instead of the official JL2XX1 driver, this affects less things in the kernel and we don't need to modify the driver upon updates. The PHY is stressed in a 12hour continous full-speed Tx+Rx iperf3 test, and capped at 720M Tx + 720M Rx when doing dual-direction, and 960M Tx or 960M Rx when doing single-direction, and stayed at an acceptable temp and has an ignorable drop rate during the test. For end user, the JL2101 support can be enabled through adding ``stmmac.jl2xx1_delay=1500 stmmac.jl2xx1_inject=1`` in the kernel command line. This can either be done with uncommenting the coreelec line in the ``config.ini`` and adding it in there, or adding a switch option like ``jl2xx1`` in ``config.ini`` and setting these arguments in ``cfgload`` if it's set to true. [image] Report about Amlogic S905X4 HK1 RBOX X4 I have some good news for all CE users that has a box with JL2101 phy: I’ve ported the JL2101 PHY driver to CE’s kernel, and it works perfectly fine! CoreELEC:~ # find /usr/lib/modules/4.9.269 -name jl*...

Update Wi-FI is working well… Had some trouble with the controller mapping but after 3 times it was ok [IMAG2119b] Paul

I try using sc2_s905x4_1gbit.dtb did not worked. I used sc2_s905x4_4g.dtb, I was able to load Emuelec into my X96 Max+ Ultra TV Box Amlogic S905X4 rev d 64bit Quad Core Cortex A55 CPU, G31 MP2 GPU,4GB RAM 64GB ROM, USB 3.0, BT4.0, 2.4G/5G Dual Wi-Fi, 100M Ethernet, H.265 3D/4K/8K HDR:X96MAX+ Ultra 464. I get Ethernet working but can’t get Wi-Fi working. I created a wifi.txt file and place it in /storage/.config, still not working. Got any suggestions? Thank you, Cesar

Thank you for your help, this confers that WiFi doesn’t work. I’ll be doing more research to solve this issue. I’ll be posting my results. Appreciate your help. Have a nice day, Cesar

In the post I mentioned, two users say that IT DOESN’T WORK, but one of them says that IT WORKED on his tv box, but that for that HE HAD TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL IT WORKS: See the summarized conversation: White-Tiger starts by saying that “Hifi” works Perfectly”. lupopt asks: “ you say wifi works perfectly?? “ White-Tiger replies: “Yes, tv box wifi works perfectly with emuelec 4.6.” Lulopt says: “ Well, that’s strange because my X96 Max + Ultra has no wifi under emuelec …” White-Tiger says: “ Hello, we have the same device, I keep saying that the wifi on emuelec works, however I tested it more intensively and realized that it is not working well. YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRYING UNTIL IT WORKS, YOU NEED LUCK, YES IT IS STRANGE!” X-Rubboy-X disse: “I confirm that I have the same box as you in fact neither Bluetooth nor Wi-Fi work even after restarting…” For lupopt and X-Bubboy-X it didn’t work; for White-Tiger it worked, but he made several attempts until it worked. I remember that on one occasion this happened to me, if I’m not mistaken with EmuELEC on a handheld, I needed to make several attempts until the wi-fi connected. I used google translate

Hello Paul, Newbie here. I am currently playing my games through Launchbox but would like to play on my big screen tv. What box would be best to play retro games (ColecoVision, Intellivision, Atari 2600, Arcade games, NES, Sega MasterSystem)? Thanks Pat P.S. I don’t think EMuEec can run Daphne (laser video games) but if it does, it would be a good bonus lol
